Messaging Terms and SMS Opt-In

VenueRev is a messaging service operated by Kant Associates, LLC. This page describes every SMS program we run, how consent is collected for each, and how to stop messages. It is written for the person receiving a text, not for our customers. Our customer agreement is in the Terms of Service, and how we handle data is in the Privacy Policy.

1. The Two Programs

Two different groups of people receive SMS from us, for two different reasons, with two different consent paths. We describe both because they are genuinely different programs.

1.1 Venue Lead Response (messages to couples)

1.2 VenueRev Demo and Account (messages to venue owners)

2. Standard Disclosures

These apply to both programs. Consent to receive text messages is not a condition of any purchase. Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply. Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.

3. How to Stop Messages

Reply STOP to any message. We also honor STOPALL, UNSUBSCRIBE, CANCEL, END, and QUIT. Opting out is immediate and automatic: we mark the number opted out, cancel every scheduled message for it, and suppress future automated messages. You do not need to explain yourself, and we will not ask you to confirm twice.

Reply HELP for help, or email hello@venuerev.com. Opt-out suppression is permanent and we do not remove it on a venue's request.

4. How Consent Is Collected

4.1 From venue owners, on this site

The demo form on our home page carries an unticked consent checkbox next to the phone field. The phone field is optional, the box is never pre-ticked, and a submission without it is recorded as "do not text this number."

4.2 From couples, on the venue's own inquiry form

Couples reach a venue through the venue's own website form or a listing service. VenueRev does not operate those forms, so we do not rely on them for consent by default. Instead, we require every venue on the Service to place the following opt-in on the form that feeds VenueRev, and to pass the resulting consent flag to us. A lead whose consent flag is absent is email-only: the Service will not text it.

This is the exact block we require, reproduced live so it can be inspected:

Sample — the consent block VenueRev requires on venue inquiry forms

Three properties of that block are contractual, not cosmetic, and are restated in Section 4 of the Terms of Service: the checkbox is never pre-ticked, it is separate from any acceptance of terms, and the phone field it governs is optional.
